Embracing 31 – Singapore

Upon arriving into Singapore from Hong Kong, I proceeded straight to JW Marriott Singapore South Beach. This is my 2nd stay at the JW Marriott Singapore property and a first in their Premier Suite.

The Premier Suite is a very spacious room with many different chairs which can be found in the room – more on the room review in another post. The party to celebrate the coming of age, I had invited some friends over for an evening gathering over drinks.

As it was a special day, I had requested 8 stalks of White Roses. While 8 in Chinese tradition is a symbol of wealth and good fortunes. There is a deeper meaning behind the choice of White colour, it also meant 31 is a year of new beginnings.

White roses are traditionally associated with marriages and new beginnings, but their quiet beauty has also made them a gesture of remembrance. When the occasion calls for reverence, whether stately or somber, a bouquet of white rose is a perfect way to say, “I’m thinking of you.” – ProFlowers

Other than having 8 stalks of White Roses in a vase, there was also a Chocolate Birthday Cake, Macarons, a bottle of Prosecco and a Fruits Platter provided by the Hotel Management.

To move away from traditional celebration style of serving cakes on plates. Each slice of the Ice Cream cake is served on Rainbow Toast.

And to mark the significance of the whole event, I had friends who attended the party come together to create some Canvas art. The canvas boards, acrylic paints and brushes were purchased from Spotlight – Plaza Singapura.

The final product below after all the finishing touches has been made.
